Partnership between PropTech leader and nonprofit has supported job placement, housing security, and economic mobility.
Knoxville, TN – June 6, 2025 — Inhabit, a leading provider of software solutions for the residential and short-term rental industries, is proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its partnership with Entryway, a national nonprofit that transitions individuals and families from homelessness to economic self-sufficiency through career training, employment, and housing opportunities. By creating a direct pipeline between trained talent and multifamily employers in need of staff, Entryway not only helps individuals overcome housing insecurity but also addresses a critical workforce shortage in the property management industry – creating a direct impact to the communities Inhabit works in.
“At Entryway, we believe in second chances and new beginnings—and that starts with understanding a person’s full story. Inhabit’s generous support through their ScreeningOne product allows us to do just that,” commented David Williams, President and CEO of Entryway. “By removing the cost of background checks, they’re not only reducing our operational burden, they’re actively helping us open doors for individuals and families working to rebuild their lives. It’s partnerships like this that help us make lasting impact.”
Over the past year, Inhabit has empowered Entryway’s mission with in-kind donations of ScreeningOne, its industry-leading employee screening platform, in addition to other financial support. This enables Entryway to operate more efficiently, onboard participants faster, and deepen its impact for both program graduates and the multifamily partners who hire them.
Measurable Impact
In one such example, Jamaine faced the risk of losing her housing and turned to Entryway for a path forward. With the help of ScreeningOne, Entryway was able to quickly assess her eligibility and welcome her into their Leasing Training Program. After completing the program and earning industry certifications, Jamaine secured a position as a leasing consultant. This opportunity enabled her to remain in her home, support her children, and launch a new career in multifamily housing.
“Through our partnership with Entryway, Inhabit is proud to support individuals like Jamaine on their journey to stability and self-sufficiency,” said John Kristel, President and Interim CEO at Inhabit.
Jamaine says, “I am grateful for the mentoring and training from Entryway. I was hired as a Leasing Consultant with a tax credit community. Now for a total of nine months I have been learning and growing in property management. Thanks to Entryway I have gained stable employment in property management and I’m learning something new every day.”
